It has already been over a month since Saloni and Brian´s Nuncio Garden Hindu wedding, but we can clearly recall the great atmosphere of the dance, tradition, detail and colour filled afternoon. Working through the pictures seems to have the power to freeze time for us, as each and every pictures transports us back to the romantic Nuncio Garden in Penha Longa where the beautiful celebration took place.
The day for us started at the hotel with the girls having their hair and make up done. Despite of slight tiredness from the previous night´s Sangeet, everyone was in the best of spirits and ready to put on their gorgeous attires. And we simply can´t ignore Saloni´s stunning Saari by the great talent and thread of Rashi from SARA Design Studio. Saloni had sent us a picture of this beautiful clothing piece, but it is only seeing it live that you see the art, craftmanship and great talent.
The celebration started with procession called Baraat which usually marks the beginning of the Indian wedding festivity, where the groom accompanied by his family is received by the bride´s family. It is probably the most energized portion of the day and we loved it how two cultures blended so beautifiully in the midst of singing and dancing to the drummers´ beats. The guests´ traditional outfits gorgeously synchronized with the antient backdrop of Nuncio Garden where beautifully flower adorned Mandaap was held. There isn´t probably more perfect place for that occassion in the extensive Penha Longa Golf Resort. Nuncio Garden used to be a refuge place dedicated specifically for spiritual contemplation. And this is where Saloni accompanied by her uncles had met her future husband.
A number of deeply sacred wedding rituals followed, and it had been a real feast for our eyes and senses to be witnessing and documenting those profound moments.
After some posed pictures taking with the families and friends, we sneaked away with Saloni and Brian for some portrait shots at the hilly golf course. The delicate richness of the couple´s attire contrasted so amazing well with the deep green of the background woods!
Unique music beats, beautiful surroundings, stunning traditional outfits created a rich tapestry of cultures which is difficult to express though simple photographs. We hope yet to have been able to highlight the uniquness of that afternoon through some of those images of this gorgeous Nuncio Garden Hindu Wedding.
Thank you once again Saloni and Brian for giving us the opportunity to witness this beautiful event!
